Over 15,000 people gather each year on the Arcata Plaza for Oyster Fest, which is the largest one-day event in Humboldt County. This festival has something for all ages to enjoy!
Arcata Main Street’s 29th Annual Arcata Bay Oyster Festival will take place on Saturday, June 15. This festival focuses on our local bounty, environmental health and the diversity of our community. It’s a celebration of North Coast culture where chefs, merchants, volunteers and visitors will revel in award-winning oysters and other tasty non-oyster delicacies, local beverages, live music and more!
Food lovers will be lured by the salty siren song of oysters and other fare, and guests will have the opportunity to quench their thirsts with local craft beer, hard apple cider and locally-made wines. North Coast chefs will be competing for the Best Raw, Cooked Oyster and Non-Oyster awards, while dancers frolic on the grass to some of Humboldt County’s best musicians.
Art lovers will also have the chance to explore Oyster Fest’s Art Market, featuring the work of Humboldt County’s brilliant artists and makers. Plus, kids will want to visit the festival’s FLUPSY (Oyster Nursery) kid’s zone for games and activities including wax hand-making, balloon creations, giant puppets, concessions and much more.
